"I'm blue" poems in words and pictures. Elisa
Torreira and Fernanda Alvarez presented his latest book, with water as the main character and setting.
Oviedo, L. Gaztañaga.
"I'm in blue is the last book of poems Torreira Elisa, with illustrations by Fernando Alvarez, in which literature and the visual arts are of equal prominence, and which is appreciated and affects the bond between word and image.
"The book is composed of eight sheets where they face illustrations and texts on a continuum, from first page to last," he explained last Thursday in Oviedo illustrator Fernanda Alvarez, during the presentation of the work, which took place at the Press Club Asturian NEW SPAIN. Author Elisa
Torreira, meanwhile, said the poems "I am in blue" is composed of a group of poems that are independent of each other, but that "metaphors are all related to the water." Similarly, the writer emphasized that working together in collaboration with Fernando Alvarez "was wonderful."
The Press Club event NEW SPAIN Asturian also participated Fermin Santos, director of graphic art editions Pata Negra, and María Álvarez Morán who is a professor in the School of Fine Arts in Oviedo. Maria Alvarez said that the work presented "inherits" the first edition made in the early twentieth century in France, where there is, as usual traditionally, any dependence on the image to the text.
"Gone is the traditional design of the page, and text and image are deployed with whole disappearing margins," said Professor of Fine Arts, said the poems "I am in blue", besides being "bill artisanal -since all the stamping process was carried out by the authors or the editor, "shows great values, for example," humility, simplicity, respect and above all, consistency and balance.
